  Comments: Very nice, quiet, private apartment. Good kitchen and lovely grounds. Quiet area just outside of town, easy to get to. Hawaiian style shower and lanai with covered parking, (nice when it is raining). The hosts are friendly and knowledgable. Really enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Mahalo nui loa.

  Comments: A warm welcome with plenty of privacy. It was a beautiful place to wake up and a great home base for exploring the north end of the island. Homey space on a quiet road that gave a good sense of what it would be like to live on this part of the Big Island.

  Comments: I needed a quiet place to stay near the seminar that I was attending in Kapa'au. Orange's studio in-law apartment met all of my needs perfectly. The space is connected by a breezeway to the main house and was much more spacious and secluded than I expected. After Orange's warm greeting at checkin, I didn't see anyone during my three night stay. I enjoyed the outdoor shower with its festive string lighting, which is fully enclosed and private and just off of the lanai. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of takeout and sit-down dining options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Hawi Town, which is only a 3-minute drive away. Groceries at the Takata Store are a 5-minute drive away. Mahalo, Orange. I would not hesitate to stay here again should I ever need to return to North Kohala.

  Comments: This is a spacious studio with a nice kitchenette. It's located on a quiet hill above Hawi with a view of the ocean. You can borrow beach towels and Orange has lots of good information on where to use them. Very gracious host.

  Comments: Orange is an amazing host! The accommodations were superb. It was very quiet and the view from the lanai was amazing. We loved staying here. It was nice and secluded and provided tons of privacy. It is a little isolated so be prepared to drive for most activities. The outdoor shower may have well been apart of the unit, it’s under the lanai. Overall we had a great time! Thank you Orange and Larry for being amazing hosts!

  Comments: We had such a wonderful stay with Orange and Larry. Such great hosts in every way. The space itself was lovely - beautiful surroundings, clean and comfortable, private, cozy, quiet, and with everything you could possibly want or need (from cookware to snorkel gear). The private porch was a beautiful spot to eat breakfast or relax at the end of the day. And it was a quick, easy drive into the town of Hawi. Beyond that, Orange and Larry were fantastic hosts! They welcomed us in as a very last minute booking and made sure we felt right at home. If we needed anything, they were available to us, and they were such delightful people to chat with. If we’re ever back in Hawi, we’d definitely stay here again.

  Comments: Hawi is a place a lot of mainland travelers don't get to in Hawai'i. We're really glad we went, and we couldn't have asked for a better place. Relaxing on the lanai, having a G&T, and looking down there lawn was a pleasure. The room was sparkling clean with a great kitchen. Our hosts were ready to help us out with our travel needs from finding packing material for some artwork to sawing the end off of a piece of wood! Hugs were had all around when we left. If you are looking for a comfortable stay in less-traveled corner of the Big Island, this is a place for you.

  Comments: A lovely space just a short drive up hill from Hawi town. The space is clean and has a lot of information about Hawaii (read the blue book). We also especially liked the outdoor shower and deck area. Hawi is a very relaxed little town. Would highly recommend the sushi restaurant (sushi rock), the local Mexican was also good and cheap. Orange and Larry were great hosts, they welcomed us when we arrived and showed us around. They were also very responsive with any issues or questions. Would definitely recommend it for a visit when exploring Hawaii’s big island.

  Comments: We stayed here for ten days and enjoyed every morning, filled with nothing but birds songs (not the roosters!). Kitchen has everything to cook, wifi is fast, and bed is very comfy. No mosquitos in the house. Mahalo, Orange and Larry for our warm welcome and great stay in Hawi!

  Comments: Orange and Larry are exceptional hosts. Larry tells great stories! The guest suite was very comfortable. The “outside shower” is two steps out the main door on the lenai and completely enclosed and private. You even get to park your car under a carport and walk straight into your living space without wet if it’s raining.
