Comments: We loved everything about this special property. The house was spacious and airy and adorned in true Hawaiian style with gorgeous wood floors and furniture, and large lanais on every side. Morning and afternoons we spent lounging at the pool or on the main lanai overlooking the beautiful gardens, or wandering the many pathways near the house to explore the exotic trees and plants and smell the enchanting orchids. This is a true paradise away from the bustle of the beaches and Kona town, which are just moments away. We appreciated the seclusion and privacy after a busy day at Hapuna Beach, especially the outdoor shower and the large sliding wood doors opening the house to the cool air. The gourmet kitchen had everything we could possibly need including high-end appliances, and with Costco and several other stores just minutes away it was easy to grab some groceries at the end of the day and enjoy relaxing cocktails and dinners on the lanai while watching the sunset. The house itself is spotless and the beds were dreamy; we slept well each night with the windows wide open. The library was a special place for quiet moments to peruse books on exploration and adventure, and gave a warm feel to the house and a personal connection to the owner. Hard to believe a better place can be found that is so close to town and the beaches and the airport, yet just moments up the hill is complete seclusion and relaxation. This is a true paradise and highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxury garden retreat!

Comments: This is a truly unique and special home. The lush surroundings filled with flowers and tropical fruit trees were a true delight to all. Our family of three adult couples and one baby slept very comfortably and enjoyed cooking together in the well stocked kitchen and poolside grill. We especially loved the outdoor shower, the inviting pool and the attached yoga deck. The house is well located to visit the entire island, downtown Kona, and to access many stunning beaches. The local manager was very helpful and responsive. We all hope to return someday soon!

Comments: If you are looking for the tropical Hawaii experience, this place is it. Beautiful gardens. Great lanai. Perfectly situated close to town and the beaches. About 5-10 degrees cooler due to the altitude. Perfect after a hot day at the beach. You won’t believe the sounds of the frogs at night and the birds in the morning.

Comments: Stop looking and book this now! You won't regret it. It's truly a jungle paradise. We had 2 adults and 3 older kids and it was perfect for us. Our favorite little touches: beach towels available, pool toys, good shampoo and bath products, fresh fruit and flowers, french press and coffee, gorgeous decor, all the big sliding doors opening up to the Lanai, and the list goes on. We were curious if the sink in the 3rd bathroom area was really open to the outdoors and it is - so wonderful. Only 10-15 minutes to town and beaches. A great coffee farm & tour is only 7 min up the hill as well. Everyone we communicated with was super helpful and accommodating as well. It was a dream.

Comments: Einfach toll! Diese Ruhe (außer die Vögel am Abend :-) ) und Natur! Sehr tolles Anwesen! Vielen Dank nochmals! Mahalo!

Comments: I am so enamoured by the stay we had at this place, my whole spirit has protested at having left it, ever since arriving back home. Mark has created a gorgeous, natural home, set in lush gardens of both bold and delicate tropical trees and plants. Can not recommend it highly enough.

Comments: This entire property is breathtaking! Perfect amount of space for my family of 6 and a gorgeous, lush setting for getting ready for my destination wedding in Kailua-Kona. It's ~15 minutes from downtown and at a higher elevation, so even though there was no AC, it was a solid 10 degrees cooler than the notoriously hot and humid coast in early August. Host was super responsive, informative, and accommodating and was quick about fixing a broken sliding door on the lanai. Tons of space (the grounds were especially big) with extra cots/sleeping pads that were actually pretty comfortable. And the plants/foliage! Definitely a highlight for us. It was so beautiful, and the more remote location gave the property a serene feel. Tip: wear bug spray! Lots of mosquitoes, which really shouldn't have surprised us at all given how tropical the climate is. In addition, don't be surprised if you see some other bugs crawling around because that's pretty much inevitable. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay here and highly recommend it. Thanks again to Mark and Jacqui for accommodating us!

Comments: This home is magical! You should not hesitate to book it. Especially wonderful if you prefer an authentic Hawaiian home experience over the tourist trap feel of the other spots on island. It's only a 5 min drive to the beaches and all the comforts of town - shopping/coffee/restaurants etc. The views, garden and home are truly special. I felt transported. It was so nice to sit on the porch in the evenings and watch the sunset, have a glass of wine. Outdoor shower is an nice perk:) Owner is very accommodating and place is impeccably clean.

Comments: Property was gorgeous! A jungle paradise! There were Tons of extra amenities like: coolers, beach chairs, tons of cooking utensils, extra towels and bed sheets they even had robes! The house was incredibly unique in the architecture and had a HUGE wrap around deck that was fully covered if you encountered a rainy day. There was no “living room” with a couch but there was no false advertising at all in the ad, just something we thought might create more of a family atmosphere. However the host made up for that by providing plenty of board games for families to enjoy and get some quality time instead of TV time. I would love nothing more then to come stay here for months on end. A real gem!!!

Comments: The house and property are amazing. So worth it to be a little away from the beach- in exchange you get cool breezes, wild but friendly pheasants, and a nightly chorus of peeper frogs. I felt I was living in an episode of Blue Planet!
