In general a nice place to stay and very convenient to restaurants and the city of Sydney. A short walk to the bottom of the hill and you are at the waterfront looking at the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Luna Park.

The house was the most unique , modern and trendy place I have ever been to - like a 5* hotel. I might be wary if I had kids though as there its a lot of artwork that I would hate to damage.

  Comments: The house was quirky with lots of lovely artwork, as well as being very large easily accommodating 6 adults. The house was fully equipped with anything you can imagine - and if there is anything you need, it is central to both North Sydney train station and Mcmahons Point ferry terminal. Lots of local restaurants, pubs, shops (IGA, Aldi and Coles as well as the fantastic Mcmahons Grocers). Vanessa was very quick with responses and accommodating us after some previous accommodation with another host ended up being double booked. Her information and instructions were well written and documented. The house was very quiet and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave.

  Comments: True to the pictures. The space was huge and more than enough for our family of seven. We loved that we could dine together when we liked in the roomy dining area. It was also a short walk down to a lovely Thai restaurant (Chet Thai), a little playground for kids, a small grocery store, and if you have time, walk down to the ferry point and you will be struck awe by the view of the harbour.

  Comments: We were a party of 8 and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Vanessa's place. There is more than ample room and you never feel you're in front of someone else's face. The location of the house is in a beautiful neighbourhood - under 10 mins walk to the North Sydney train station and another 10 mins walk to this fabulous look out point down Blues Point Road. Recommended.

  Comments: This place is perfect for few families and those with children! Plenty of space and not to mention many interest art pieces. Very Walkable to Luna Park, harbour bridge plus North Sydney train station and Greenwood plaza for all your grocery needs. Highly recommend for short or even long stay. :) do bring a clothes rack along if you have plenty of washing to do. Thank you Venessa!!!

  Comments: The place is very large, with very big common areas that could accommodate everyone twice over. The location is great with transport connections from the airport bring very simple with short walk and train ride. The surrounding cafes and parks. Given the look in photos I was concerned that my 1 and 3 year old might reek havoc this was not the case. The little outdoor areas and the nearby playground were great for them. Supermarket cafes, pubs are 5mins walk away. Vanessa was helpful and quick to respond.

  Comments: Love the house it's really decorated nicely with thoughts. Kitchen utensils were equipped would be better to add a bigger pot for large consumptions. We asked for later check out and the host was able to help. Found a dirty underwear in one of the room lol but that's alright. Overall a pleasant stay easy access to shop for food and drinks and crossing the harbour. The neighbourhood is really beautiful, enjoyed the walk to wharf everyday.

The house is beautifully decorated, and extremely spacious, and there was enough room for the 8 of us to move around without feeling castrophobic. There were very strict house rules from the owner on the rubbish management issue which may come off as very daunting but nothing unmanageable. Otherwise we had an absolute amazing time and will highly recommend this place to big groups looking for a beautiful house to stay in during your time in Sydney.

  Comments: My family had a wonderful stay in Vanessa’s house – it was the most charming houses we have ever stayed in! Everything is as depicted in the description and photos – large house with lots of roaming spaces and a well-equipped kitchen. We spent most of our time at home admiring her decoration and her books collection. It’s a lovely, quiet neighbourhood with everything nearby – cafes, restaurants, grocers, liquor shops, pharmacy etc. Short walk to the North Sydney train station, or you can also take the ferry from CBD/Darling Harbour to McMahons Point (then either a short uphill walk to the house, or a 2-min bus ride up to street if you manage to catch the half-hourly bus). Totally fuss-free check-in and check-out. As mentioned by other guests, don’t get too alarmed by the list of instructions – just take your garbage out on time and you should be fine (no pun intended lol). I would highly recommend Vanessa’s home!

The house was perfect, Lots of space, enough bathroom space for all the ladies and my wedding photos will look amazing! Seriously don't go pass this place!!! You need to stay here.   Comments: This is a lovely home in a very central part of Sydney. The home has lots of personality and is beautiful. The only downside was that I left my Kindle behind by accident, and because I don't live in Sydney, and the owner lives overseas it wasn't very easy to organise to have it collected within the timeslots allocated to me by the owner. That can't be helped though. It was my own fault for forgetting it and the owner did the best she could.

  Comments: Artistic, inspirational space ideal for big group who drives (especially if tourists); who are punctual (cleaners do show up on the dot on the hour of your checkout); well prepared (remember to BYO amenities like hair dryers, body wash, tea/coffee); responsible (read the manual and follow all to-dos). Since we were such a group we had a lovely stay! Don't miss amazing view of harbour bridge from the end of Blue Points Road!

  Comments: Wow. That is what every said when they entered the place - stylish, huge, and can easily take ten people without feeling crowded. Indeed we had a dinner of 15+ people with takeaway from the local Thai and the rooms had a great vibe for that kind of relaxed get together. We could walk to North Sydney station or down to Mc Masons Point ferry to give lots of flexible access. A very good neighbourhood with good restaurants and walks by the harbour - put the place itself is in a very quiet street. And Vanessa was wonderfully responsive to any small issues we had or advice that was needed. A wonderful place for a large group.

  Comments: We had a great stay at Vanessa's Place! I'm from Regional NSW and we stayed with friends of ours who had come in from Denver Colorado. This was their first trip to Sydney and they were blown away by the location. We walked a few blocks down Blues Point Rd to catch the ferry and the view was spectacular. The iconic vistas of Sydney, being the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and Luna Park were just a stones throw away. We didn't take cars with us and spent the entire trip using the readily accessible public transport for trips across the harbour to the CBD. The best part about the location was NOT being in the CBD but still super close. A night ferry across to Darling Harbour for dinner was tourist perfection. We started a game amongst the 9 of us to try and figure out 2 things...1) The original use of the building before it became accommodation and 2) getting to know our host by investigating the furnishings, artworks and books in the library. Although we'll never know the real answers, we had a great time discovering the eclectic array of furnishings, the amazing variety and quality of the art and sculptures as well as the interesting use of antiques and curios. I enjoyed time in the library combing through the broad spectrum of books and journals on hand. Overall, a wonderful stay in a truly imaginative residential space. Well done Vanessa.

  Comments: I had my family stay here for 4 days due to my wedding. Location is great and the place is a good size for a large group. When we arrived the place smelled of mould/mildew and very stuffy. It needed to be aired out for 2 days to be acceptable. There were dehumidifiers (3) in the rooms running when we arrived to remove moisture I assume. I opted not to stay there on the eve of my wedding (which I planned to) due to the mildew smell but they coped with it (being from interstate ) and it was ok half way through their stay after they left the doors and windows open for 2 days. The host was very understanding, sent a property manager to inspect and offered me a partial refund however this ultimately isn’t a solution and it was too hard to move everyone.

  Comments: Great space with multiple living areas. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The location was perfect. We walked over the bridge to the Opera House. It was close to trains and ferries. Easy walking access to restaurants and shops. It was a bit damp but the multiple dehumidifiers helped. Only suggestion would be to put doors on the bathrooms. Two bathrooms had no doors and the third didn’t lock. We really enjoyed our stay in Sidney and this home made it even better. Thanks

  Comments: Victoria's Place is a very unusual accommodation. It is a conversion of a workshop and is very well done. The place is filled with quirky decorations. It is very roomy. It can be a touch cold in winter. It is very quiet but also a great location with access to many local restaurants and pubs as well as Luna Park and ferries to the city (about 1km away).

  Comments: What a fabulous space. This was a great warehouse conversion home. Victoria was great and communicated well. I stayed here with some work colleagues and it was a perfect space for us to have our own space and also socialise. Everyone said their beds and stay was good, there were just a couple of things that they were uncomfortable with and that's a couple of open windows and see-through curtains that looked straight onto the street, one of the rooms was clearly damp and the person who stayed there was sensitive to damp and mould, unfortunately. The common share bathroom facilities didn't have a lock on the door and the toilet door didn't have a separate lock so a few were uncomfortable with that.

The quirky decoration makes for many talking points. Communication was easy, clear and quick.   Comments: This property was in a great location, close to a gym, coffee shops, restaurants and a lovely walk to the ferry. Great views of the harbour were only a short walk away. Close to the train line and ferry point. Victoria was very accomodating with our check in & out times as my son was arriving earlier and we were given the opportunity for a later check out time. I particularly enjoyed the book shelf (library) with many wonderful topics and subjects that kept me busy. There was 7 of us staying there and the property gave us all our own space to unwind as well as space to come together as a family to play board games and connect. The stylish layout and the art pieces were also part of the experience in staying at this property. We would definitely recommend this property for families or a group of couples wanting to share the experience.

  Comments: The house is a lot more run down than it looks on the photographs provided. Beds were dusty which resulted in my developing hives on my first night there. Air-conditioning is only available in the kitchen and in one of the toilets. There is a step near the kitchen which can be quite dangerous because its not clearly marked. Both my grandparents missed the step and they nearly fell. Do be prepared to walk uphill from the train station to the home.

Great for NYE fireworks. Other than that, the house is very well kept, with all basic amenities provided.
