Neighborhood Overview: This is THE place to live/stay/explore in NYC right now. Anything and everything you could want is happening in Williamsburg these days. From fine dining, to night hotspots, to charming cafes, parks, galleries, boutique shopping, great food and the best people watching in NYC....we've got it all.
Notes: Since our second bedroom is now a nursery, we think the apartment is best suited for a couple sharing the bedroom or a single occupant.
Transit: The very reliable "L" train (which intersects Manhattan) is just one block away. It's such a busy area that we feel comfortable taking it even late at night.
Access: The whole apartment is yours to use; please be mindful that the nursery is for hanging out/storing your things, but no sleeping or extra guests, please.
Interaction: Happy to call, text & email to arrange the stay. It is important that our guest feels comfortable and that we trust the person staying in our home. If we are not in the city when you arrive, we'll arrange a trusted friend to let you in and show you the apartment.
House Rules: Please respect our apartment as our home and leave it as clean and tidy as you found it. We have a number of art objects and books close to our heart that you are welcome to peruse, but please treat with respect. NO smoking inside!! Please, no pets as well. We simply ask that you leave the place as neat as you found it. Bonus points if you want to water our plants:) Thank You.

Comments: Holly and Grayson were just great. It was our first time doing this and I can only say good, great things about both of them and the apartment. It was like going to the best hotel in NY with all the good things of having an apartment for yourself. They were very considerate and the flat was really clean and with all the little details you could ask for. They are really nice people and Holly and I have been talking by e-mail before a lot so everything was easy and nice once we get there; She is so sweet, she gave us the best guide for the neighborhood to make us feel at home. If we go back to NYC we'll definetely count on them. I don't want to lose contact because they are people worth meeting and knowing.

Comments: Hollis and Grayson were the perfect hosts! They made up the air mattress for us, left us clean sheets and towels, sent us a great guide to the area, and even left us some delicious coffee. Their apartment is adorable and in a great area of Brooklyn, but also right on the subway line making it easy to get to Manhattan. Hollis was great with communication, and made our first airbnb experience stress-free and awesome. Definitely recommended!

Comments: We had already been to New York before (in different hotels and hostels), but this was definitely our best accomodation! The apartment is located in a nice, quiet neighbourhood, very close to Manhattan, but interesting in itself (with cafés, shops, etc., at a stone's throw). It's not as small as we thought it would be, and it fitted us four with no problem whatsoever. It's full of books, so you could spend numerous rainy days there without getting bored - but the sun shone almost the whole time we were there. Although we had some trouble finding (and giving back) the keys, it was all settled with a phone call (Holly was easily reachable, even early morning on Jan. 1!), and all was well that ended well. We would definitely recommand the place, our only regret being not to have met their owners!

Comments: We felt at home from the moment we stepped inside the apartment. There even was a bottle of wine and two glasses waiting for us on the table! The communication with Holly was very easy and she made the whole process of setting the details quite smooth. The fact that she and her boyfriend made themselves available to reach by phone at any time was reassuring, especially for newcomers on airbnb. The apartment was really nice, conveniently located near a subway station going to Manhattan or some main streets in Williamsburg, so visiting the neighbourhood was easy. The guest guide Holly provided us was helpful, especially for the restaurants list. The café Lula Bean, next to the apartment, was a good stop for early (and not so early) starts, and we became "regulars" for the few days we were there. I would strongly recommend Holly's place!

Comments: Our stay at Chez Grollis was fantastic! From my first contact with Hollis to checkout on the last day, she was quick to respond by both email & text and was super helpful. She prearranged a friend to meet us for the key exchange at checkin as they were already out of town, and even sent us an awesome neighbourhood guide days before our arrival. A 2 minute walk to the 'L' train, and minutes away from some great restaurants and bars, this apartment was perfect for our group of three. Grocery options were also close by, and McCarren Park is nearby for anyone looking to get some exercise in. The neighbourhood is safe and we did not feel uncomfortable taking the train or walking the area at night. Met Hollis & Grayson on the last day to exchange keys as previously arranged and was happy to meet & thank these polite and helpful hosts in person for a fantastic stay.

Comments: i had a great stay at hollis and grayson's place. it is conveniently located for me, as most of my brooklyn comrades live walking distance from the apartment. the L train is right on the corner, and the nearby stores/restaurants/bars are great. the apartment has a good kitchen, and the shower has really good water pressure. there is a dry cleaner immediately next door to the building, and a laundromat across the street, which was quite handy. could not have asked for better accommodation. thank you.

Comments: Holly has a wonderful apartment, and I spent a wonderful week there. You really can't beat the location, and the place is very warm and cozy -- perfect for the Holidays. Holly had everything set up for me and very clear (and helpful) instructions and suggestions. Plus, she won my heart right away leaving a crystalized ginger, dark chocolate bar as a welcome gift :) I'll definitely be coming back if the apartment is available. Thanks, Holly!

Comments: Hollis was very hospitable, offering recommendations galore for the Williamsburg area. When the keys did not come via mail in time for my flight, she made other arrangements that worked out perfectly! Her home is located right by the L train and so it is very easy to get anywhere in the city! We also really enjoyed Her creativity, as the entire apartment is decorated with beautiful work of art and plants. The rooms are set up much differently than the pictures, but we didn't seem to mind, as we were always exploring and touring new areas. Definitely recommend her space to anyone traveling to this area!
