  Comments: The apartment is ideal for two and very, very well located, near boutiques, restaurants, shopping malls and public transportation. Not to mention that the ocean is only two streets away! The check-in and check-out were excellent and the communication before our arrival was fast and very helpful. The apartment is clean, with terrific cable tv and Wi-Fi. The bed is comfy, and the shower is good. What more could we ask for? We loved our stay at Marcela’s place and are already planning our next stay there.

  Comments: O apartamento da Marcela,é exatamente como está nas fotosporém não tem cofre,como descrito,não haviam lenções suficientes nem cobertores para 3 pessoas e uma das camas(solteiro)estava quebrada.A Marcela não nos recebeu,conforme combinado(estava viajando) e quando telefonei para ela,ao chegar no aeroporto,,como combinado,fui atendida por outra pessoa que me falou que ela havia viajado.O check-in que deveria ser as 09:00hs,só poderia ser feito as 11hs porque a pessoa que lá estava hospedada resolveu alongar sua estadia,acho que isso foi uma falha,que não deveria ter acontecido.Ficamos muito inseguras também porque a portaria do predio estava em reforma,devido a um onibus que entrou,por acidente nela,e a frente do predio estava fechada com compensados de madeira,e isso aconteceu 3 meses antes de nós alugarmos o apartamento,acho que nos devia ter sido colocada tal questão,antecipadamente,para que decidissimos se queriamos ou não alugar o apartamento,com aquelas condições de segurança.A localização do apartamento é muito boa,os porteiros são muito educados e gentis,mas não há cameras de segurança,como nos foi dito que havia,sugerí que fosse colocada uma trava de segurança extra na porta de entrada do apartamento,pois acho isso importante para o (Website hidden by Airbnb) check-out Marcela foi ao apartamento e ela é muito educada e pediu desculpas,mas no check-in,falamos com ela apenas por telefone,e não gostei de seu atendimento.Não conseguimos conectar a internet também...enfim,acredito que Marcela tem um ótimo lugar para oferecer,mas talvez por falta de experiencia,nossa estadia foi bem conturbada,infelizmente...desejo sorte a ela e se corrigir as questões acima citadas para que não mais aconteça com outros hospedes...recomendo o local.

  Comments: Marcela's Ipanema's apartment was everything we wanted. Located right in the middle of the high end shopping district, it was so perfect to have an apartment rather than a hotel room. Just a couple blocks away from the beach made this little apartment a great end to our trip.

Localização perfeita, dois quarteirões da praia, supermercado, farmácia, lojas e muitos restaurantes a poucos minutos a pé! Possui todos equipamentos necessários, além de limpo! Marcela foi muito gentil, educada, atenciosa e preocupada com o nosso bem estar. Ela foi pontual na chegada e na saída. Pretendo me hospedar novamente em breve! Super Recomendo! :D

  Comments: Super location - only a block away from Ipanema beach which could not be more central. A huge choice of restaurants and bars all around - safe building with 24hr security. Lovely apartments - kitchen, bathroom, good sized bedroom with storage. Marcela was a great host, super responsive, always appearing at the door whenever I had any questions or required clarifications - one would be lucky to have her as a host. Definitely recommend the place!

  Comments: Marcela is an absolute excellent host. She is prompt, polite and incredibly responsive. The location could not be better, it really is the best in Ipanema! The only advise i would give is (and this may be in a translation issue) that this would be by US standards a studio apartment, not a 1 bedroom (i.e. - there is not a separate bedroom). Otherwise, the description is very accurate. Had a great stay! Thank you!

I also ate at several excellent restaurants in the neighborhood and everything was within walking distance. As a woman traveling alone this place was just perfect.   Comments: Fantastic accomodation! We couldn't have asked for a better location, in the center of Ipanema neighbourhood, two blocks from the beach. The apartment has everything you need and there is everything around: pharmacie, grocery store, restaurants, bars and especially juice bars! And the place is really quiet. We stayed there 6 nights and would've extended our stay gladly. You will not be disappointed if you rent this place.

  Comments: We had an excellent stay here - the apartment is in an amazing location, just 2 blocks from the beach and in the centre of everything in Ipanema. The apartment itself is perfect for two people (although perhaps a little bit of a squeeze for 3, unless you're travelling with a child) and is in a very good condition. Air conditioning and wifi were a bonus too. Marcela was lovely and responded quickly to all our questions. She was also flexible with our check-in and check-out times which was really helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

  Comments: My wife and I stayed at Marcela's place in the heart of Ipanema (the location could not be better in Ipanema) for 3 nights at the end of January/beginning of February. The apartment was well furnished, clean, quiet, and very secure. Simply put, it was our home base in Rio while we were there and we were impressed. The place was in excellent condition and the AC worked very well and was quiet (air blade). If we return to Rio, we would contact Marcela again and not even consider a hotel (which we did before we committed). Marcela is an excellent host and walked us through the place. She left a guide as to how various household things worked. Communication before and during we're prompt and friendly. All in all, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying with Marcela in Ipanema. Glen

  Comments: Hi, Marcella was a great host to communicate with, prompt and very helpful. We had a late flight out of rio and she let us stay in the apt until an hour before her new guests checked in. The apt is in a great location, close to beach and shops/restaurants. It is very basic but clean. Only nits: more and better towels, we got 2 basic towels from Marcella not enough to go to beach and shower.

  Comments: The apartment is located in an absolutely great location. The apartment was very clean and tidy. The main items we used was the WiFi, little fridge, ceiling fan and air con and they all worked brilliantly. The only tiny issue we had is that there is no kettle to boil water for tea. Just a coffee maker. So we had to boil water on the gas stove. But really this didn't bother us too much. And the stove worked fine. Marcela is very friendly and always cheerful. She also said we could contact her at anytime and she always responded very quickly. All in all, the apartment was wonderful and we would definitely stay here again.

The location is super as well -- it's a few blocks away from Ipanema beach and also located on a street with many restaurants and shops.   Comments: Marcela was very responsive and quick in communication. Very helpful and friendly. The apartment was clean and as described. There is security 24 hrs downstairs and 2 lifts. The apt is a studio with washer available, a decent shower, fridge etc. The pat is in a great location a couple of blocks from the beach, a 10 mins walk from the nearesr subway, and surrounder by lots of shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars within easy walking distance. It is a good, safe neighbourhood. I would recommend both the host and accommodation.

  Comments: We stayed at Marcella's for 3 nights. Great location, just 2 blocks back from Ipanema beach and in a really safe neighbourhood. Also only a 10 minute walk to the lagoon.The flat itself is compact but has everything you need and really you're not going to be spending much time here with Rio outside! Marcela was lovely and couldn't have been more accommodating. We stayed an extra night and checked out late, all no problems. One point to be aware of. This is one of a number of properties Marcella airbnb's and it's not lived in. Consequently you don't get the same experience as when staying in someone's home. However it's a small quibble Overall a really positive Airbnb experience. Thanks Marcella!

  Comments: We had a great time at Marcella's apt. It's perfectly located in Ipanema, two blocks away from the beach, close to bars, restaurants and shops. The apt. is a nice place to stay in Rio. It's clean, and has everything you need. The hand over of the key was done by the housekeeper, it all went smooth, but she didn't speak anything but Portugese. This makes it hard to ask questions if Portugese is not spoken by the renters. Marcella is very flexible, we could prolong our stay with two days without any problems. Marcella reacted quickly to our questions and requests which made our stay very pleasent. I would definately recommend the apt. to visitors of Rio.

  Comments: Mi pareja y yo fuimos al apartamento de Marcela por una semana y realmente quedamos muy conformes! Marcela es amorosa. Nos respondió a la brevedad todas las preguntas que tuvimos previo a la llegada, y estando ahí nos recibió para darnos las llaves y explicarnos cómo funcionaba todo, y estuvo dispuesta a ayudarnos con todo lo que necesitamos todo el tiempo. El apartamento es perfecto para dos personas. Es un ambiente pequeño pero ideal para una pareja, con todo lo necesario (ropa de cama, toallas, utensilios, herramientas de limpieza, secador de pelo, etc. etc. etc.) Está ubicado excelentemente: a dos cuadras de la playa, muy cerca de la Lagoa, en una calle absolutamente principal llena de supermercados, tiendas de ropa, minimercados, restaurantes, todo a pocos pasos del apartamento. Tiene un minimercado 24hs abierto exactamente en la puerta del edificio lo cual es ideal!! Tiene portero 24 hs y está en una zona muy segura. Definitivamente quedamos encantados tanto con Marcela como con el apartamento. Si volvemos a ir, sin duda iremos al mismo lugar! Gracias por todo Marcela!

She also gave us a fourth night for a discounted price because of our unforeseen emergency travel changes. The apartment itself is small but has all of the amenities described online. It is clean and the best part of it all is that it is in a wonderful neighborhood and only two blocks from the beach. We would definitely stay here again!

  Comments: Não nos conhecemos pessoalmente, mas o contato foi sempre rápido. Fiz o contato na véspera de noite e na manhã seguinte tudo fechado. As chaves estavam disponíveis e O ap encontrava-se conforme as fotos divulgadas. Localização muito boa duas quadras da praia e com restaurantes e transporte próximos. O que me desagradou um pouco foi o fato do prédio me parecer ser misto, com escritórios comerciais. No mais tivemos uma excelente estadia.

  Comments: Location is an extreme plus finding yourself in one of the major avenues in a great neighborhood. Restaurants, bars, and the beach are all within walking distance. The apartment itself was more than sufficient to what I needed with apartment being kept in a great condition! Security was not of a concern as there is a security guard/receptionist always in the main lobby 24/7. Marcela was a lovely host always making herself available to any concerns I had and responding almost instantaneously to any messages I sent. I highly recommend this listing and will return in ever I get the opportunity.

  Comments: Pretty nice location in Ipanema. Being only 2 blocks from the beach, and several good restaurants within 2 blocks. I recommend trying ViaSete which is only 1 block away. Many busses available within 2 blocks, and the subway will be much closer once the expansion is completed. We had to go to the General Osorio station which was about a 10-15 minute walk away. The various 24 hr doormen were really friendly despite our language barrier. There is also one of the locations where you could purchase in advance tickets to the Christ the Redeemer train across the street. Unfortunately the walls are a little thin; an upstairs neighbor (or outside somewhere) was doing construction and we constantly heard a drill running or somebody hammering something in the mornings. I love a hot shower with plenty of water, but the water heater is built into the shower head in this bathroom and not so powerful. So it is either hot water but not full pressure, or cool water with full pressure.

  Comments: We really enjoyed our stay in this AirBnB apartment. It is as advertised and has enough space for two people to be comfortable for a week. All kitchen and bathroom supplies were provided. The location couldn't be beaten. It was easy to get to the beach, eat at great restaurants, and use public transit to get around. I would highly recommend this place, just be sure to check that the price online is in your currency, as the price jumped for us after I paid with my credit card.

  Comments: This apartment was perfect for our needs. The location is amazing - only 2 blocks from the beach! There is also everything you need within a block or two: restaurants, coffee shops, etc. The apartment is of decent size - a kitchen, bathroom and the bedroom. It was relatively quiet all 3 nights we stayed. Additionally, Marcela was a great host. She was very responsive and even was able to accommodate us on short notice when our flight plans changed.   Comments: We really appreciated our stay here! Marcela was super on top of communication, writing us immediately upon booking and staying in touch as we approached. She left a list of FAQ in the apartment, which we found very helpful. We loved the neighborhood and location - just as expected. The space was smaller and less well lit than we'd anticipated from the photos, so we were not blown away or anything, but it was fine for our needs (traveling through for 3 days). The only issue we faced was the water temperature, which did not correspond with the FAQ left behind. However, we did not ask Marcela about this during our stay because we didn't think it worth the bother for our short stay - so she very well might've fixed it if we asked, and that's on us. A heads up to those staying, though, in case it's of significance to you!

  Comments: The apartment is in an absolutely perfect location in a beautiful city. Marcela was incredibly good about responding to emails both during the booking process and our stay. While I would 100% stay here again, the apartment is really meant for two people. There is a seat that converts into a bed for a third person, but it's quite uncomfortable and I'd recommend avoiding counting on it unless you're one of those people that can sleep well on anything, anywhere. Other than that, fantastic stay and wish we were still hanging out on the beach in Rio!

And her housekeeper/assistant Marlucia, who I did meet, was also very nice and helpful, along with the doormen/security guys downstairs. The apartments were also very nice, and had everything I needed. I actually stayed in 3 different ones, all in the same building because I extended my trip, and Marcela was able to accommodate my new departure date this way. I didn't mind changing apartments.   Comments: this was a great perfect stay. the apt is small (as described) but super comfy. it has everything you need for a short stay in Rio - even a washing machine. the location is excellent: two blocks from the beach, a few blocks from Lagoa. The area is safe and there are various good restaurants around (including the great Delírio Tropical which is on the same block as this apt). There is a bike sharing station (similar to Citi Bikes in NY) two blocks away right before you get to the beach. a big plus for us was the silence. and apart from being silent is also full of light - another important feature for us as well. marcela gave us prompt responses to everything we needed and her assistant marlucia as super sweet as well. extremely recommended! and will definitely repeat the experience in two weeks.

  Comments: The apartment felt more like a room in a budget hotel than an apartment with character. It looks like it has been cheaply and hastily furnished for Airbnb use with the bare minimum and nobody ever lived or planned to live there. On arrival, the host was not there. The keys were left with the doorman who did not speak English. Luckily we had a friend with us who spoke Portuguese, otherwise it could have been quite a problem. The shower is absolutely terrible. It's one of those flimsy electrical showers that warm up water as it flows through. Therefore, we had to choose between proper water flow or warm water, both was not an option. We went for the middle and ended up having showers with a pathetic, weak lukewarm stream of water. Also no hot water in the bathroom sink. The air conditioning made so much noise that the neighbors complained and warned us that it might catch fire (!). There were absolutely no essentials in the apartment, except 3 small bars of soap. There was only 1 electrical outlet near the bed, so not exactly a "laptop friendly workspace" either (we had to take turns using the outlet!). On the plus side, the location is indeed fantastic. It's right in the heart of Ipanema, with tons of nice shops and restaurants around. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away. It also feels very safe, even very late at night. We would recommend this place to travellers who want a great location but don't plan on spending much time in the apartment (or showering!).

O ponto alto, realmente, é a localização.

Se você está procurando um lugar pra dormir depois de passar o dia na rua, pode ser uma boa opção. O prédio é mal mantido, com fios expostos e problemas de acabamento. O apartamento é menor do que me pareceu nas fotos e precisa ser renovado.

  Comments: The apartment exactly matched the Airbnb photos and description, but we were pleasantly surprised by the location - you really are just steps away from Ipanema beach, bars and restaurants etc.! Check-in was straightforward, even though we arrived a little later than the designated check-in times. When we realised that we'd forgotten our adaptor plug, Marcela bought one over the next morning. Great trip, great host!

  Comments: Great place! Close to everything and close to the beach. Even though it rained a couple days that I was there and it was a quick trip to Rio, everything is close by an excellent restaurants. Marcela is an awesome host! She was very helpful and quick to answer any messages I sent her. Communication was on point and excellent. The place is good enough for two people, clean, And well taken care of. For looking for an awesome place to stay, make sure you stay at one of Marcela’s apartments.

  Comments: El departamento tiene una ubicación excelente, queda a 2 cuadras de la playa y alrededor hay muchas tiendas y supermercados donde se consigue de todo. Es algo pequeño,pero es confortable para dos. Marcela fue muy atenta, ya que el día que llegamos el calentador no funcionaba y nos solucionó el problema con mucha velocidad. También, preguntamos si podíamos hacer el check out media hora más tarde y no tuvo ningún problema. Lo único para mejorar, siendo exquisito, es que había hormiguitas muy pequeñas en la cocina, y es donde comíamos de vez en cuando, por ello quizás molestaban un poco.

  Comments: El edificio es un poco viejo, pero la ubicación es la mejor de Ipanema. El departamento está en muy buen as condiciones para dos personas. La televisión solo tiene canales básicos, lo que no hay problemas ya que a Río se viene a disfrutar la playa y no a ver televisión. Destaco el aire acondicionado que se encuentra en óptimas condiciones, junto al ventilador del techo. También destaco el agua de la ducha con la presión y temperatura precisa, junto con poseer lavadora que le da un plus. Como recomendación sugiero que se incluya un jabón para el baño, al menos para el inicio de la estadía, como también artículos de aseo para limpiar el baño. La comunicación con Marcela fue solo a través de mensajes, lo que hace un poco impersonal el trato, pero al menos respondió a tiempo en todo.

  Comments: Marcela mostró en todo momento su hospitalidad de manera virtual puesto que nunca la conocimos en persona. Dejó una lista de recomendaciones útiles y respondió de manera inmediata a todos nuestros mensajes tanto antes como durante nuestra estancia. La mayor puntuación del apartamento es su UBICACIÓN, zona segura, tranquila y cerca de absolutamente todo: supermercados, tiendas, playa, metro, restaurantes, etc. El tamaño es ideal para una pareja. Todo lo encontramos limpio (sábanas, toallas, suelos, WC, cocina, etc.). El wifi funcionaba bien. Los únicos puntos negativos no son demasiado relevantes pero los mencionamos como crítica constructiva para futuras mejoras: -El agua caliente de la ducha no tenía presión. -El congelador tenía tanto hielo que no cabía una botella grande de agua, pero al irnos se lo dijimos a la señora del aseo y desconectó el refrigerador para descongelarlo así que me imagino que eso se solucionó fácilmente. -La tele tenía poca variedad de canales y pedía sacar y meter la tarjeta constantemente, quizás fuera un tema temporal de señal -La ventana no cerraba (encajaba) 100% -Tal y como se indica en la descripción del apartamento, no cuenta con jabón ni champú por lo que se requiere llevar o comprar allí. Si lo que quieren es un lugar seguro, tranquilo y PERFECTAMENTE ubicado, ésta es sin duda la MEJOR opción de Ipanema.

  Comments: Wir hatten zwei super tolle letzte Tage in Rio - auch Dank Marcela's süßer Wohnung, die zentral in Ipanema gelegen ist. Das Appartment war blitzeblank, super ausgestattet (Küche) und die Kommunikation mit Marcela lief einwandfrei und sehr schnell. Alles in allem seeeehr empfehlenswert! Einziges kleines Manko: Die Wände sind sehr hellhörig, also Ohropax nicht vergessen ;)

No entanto, algumas coisas deixaram a desejar em relação à infraestrutura que não estava conforme a foto (o apt. e as facilidades não estão muito conservados), o secador não funcionou e tinham muitas formigas que apareciam o tempo todo pelo chão. Apesar disso, foi uma boa estadia para um fim de semana. ;)

  Comments: Excellent location -safe with doorman. we spent 5 nights for New Year’s eve. Marcella the owner was very responsive and adapted our check in hours it was appreciated. However was expensive for the place and amenities (very basic). We would appreciate also more than 2 small soaps and detergent for the washer!
