  Comments: Elegant room indeed, very stylish and exactly as on the picture. Everything new and clean. The breakfast was very nice, fresh bread and sweets from the bakery across the street. The location in the centre was perfect. In 15 minutes you can walk to the river Douro and lots of points of interest. Fred was helpfull and was open to suggestions.

A localização é extremamente ideal para quem quer ficar próximo do transporte público (comboio) e das principais atrações que a cidade do Porto tem a oferecer. Vale destacar a pessoa que é o Fred, um cara extremamente simpático e correto, fez o possível para que nossa estadia fosse perfeita, sem nenhum desacordo. A suit estava extremamente limpa e organizada, sem contar que o prédio como um todo é limpo e organizado. Fomos surpreendido ao chegar, sabendo que tinhamos direito ao café da manhã, uma boa gentileza! Ao final da estadia o Fred foi bastante solicito e até nos ajudou, levando-nos em seu carro até a estação de comboio, de onde seguimos (Website hidden by Airbnb) certeza, recomendo a imóvel do Fred!

  Comments: We didn't actually meet Fred, though he sent us an exuberant electronic welcome, but a nice lady met us and showed us around. The room was fine and astonishingly quiet given that Fred's place caters for quite a few people. People travelling with cars note that Fred's place is extremely difficult to reach because of narrow little streets and the GPS is not quite up to date and tries to send you the wrong way down one-way streets. Parking in a pay parking garage a stone's throw from Fred's.

  Comments: Wonderful! the stay in Fred's hause was really special! the room is beautiful, very clean and well furnished. The position is great, in one of the best part of Porto. we had the car and we found very easy free park, but is near also to the station. Porto is AMAZING! we loved the city. Fred is a special host, attentive, willing and very helpful, he suggested us different restaurant and attraction of the city! I absolutely reccomend Fred's haus! Grazie mille di tutto Fred, siamo state benissimo, spero di tornare un giorno a Porto, magari per un soggiorno più lungo.

  Comments: Ha sido una estancia estupenda. Toda tal y como habíamos hablado y visto en Airbnb. La localización esta genial, en todo el centro, cerca de paradas de autobús, metro, taxi y trenes. Una limpieza inmejorable en la habitación, baño y cocina. Respecto a los anfitriones sólo puedo decir palabras bonitas, nos recibieron espectacularmente y estuvieron dispuestos a ayudarnos en todo. La chica que sirve los desayunos es muy simpática y eficaz. El desayuno incluido esta muy bien, ademas de tostadas y zumo ponen un pequeño pastel típico de Portugal para que degustemos las delicias de la zona. Cuando volvamos a Oporto no dudaré en repetir.

  Comments: Nous avons passé un super séjour dans l'hotel particulier de Fred. On vous conseille de venir séjourner ici et de prendre les petits déjeuners car ils sont délicieux. Les lieux sont très bien tenus, c'est très propre et très agréable d'y passer du temps. Fred et Maria nous ont accueillis comme des rois.   Comments: We did receive a very nice welcome from Fred, he explained everything very nicely. Fred's House is located right is the centre of Porto , very well connected and close to all the main attractions of the city. Apartment is very clean as present in picture, more like a hotel.

  Comments: Die Lage der Unterkunft war perfekt! Das Zimmer sehr modern eingerichtet und sauber. Leider war es sehr laut, da wir immer die Fenster öffnen mussten, da es keine Klima hatte. Aber ansonsten würde ich das Zimmer jederzeit weiter empfehlen! Maria und Fred waren sehr freundlich und haben uns jederzeit weiter geholfen!!

  Comments: We had a fantastic time in Fred's guesthouse. It's very well located right in the centre and we enjoyed the comfortable bed as much as we enjoyed the tips Fred gave us for dinner. He also speaks German very well.

  Comments: Fred's apartment is exactly as described! The room was beautifull, very clean and is located in the center of Porto. Fred made sure there was a spare key for us to enter the house since he couldn't make it to receive us. And even when we checked out, we could leave our luggage in the house and he gave us a spare key for us to use. From the house the center is easy accessible and there a lot of nice restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood. Overall, we had a fantastic stay!

  Comments: Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in einem der Zimmer in Fred's House. Toll war die zentrale Lage mitten im Zentrum, der reibungslose Check-in und die Hilfsbereitschaft von Fred, der sogar super deutsch spricht :) Das Frühstück von Maria konnten wir leider nicht bewerten, da wir uns unser Glutenfreies Frühstück in der Gemeinschaftsküche selbst zubereitet haben. Wir hatten das Zimmer LOIOS mit eigenem Bad. Es war toll eingerichtet und hatte ein bequemes, großes Bett. TIPP: Oropax nicht vergessen! Das Gebäude ist alt und man hört durch die Fenster die Straße und den Trubel der Stadt ;) Porto hat uns sehr gefallen und es gibt viele tolle Restaurants und Bars in der näheren Umgebung. Ein Auto ist in Porto eigentlich überflüssig, da man alles gut zu Fuß erkunden kann! Fred hat uns vorab auch tolle Empfehlungen geschickt und ist ein super Gastgeber.

  Comments: What you see in the pictures is what you get: a nice, comfy room with an awesome bed and a clean, private bathroom. What you don't see in the pictures: extremely central location, close to bars and a 10 min. walk away from the Douro river. But if you close the windows, there is no noise from the street. Tip: if you enter the park across the 'Torre dos Clérigos', on top of the hill you'll find an awesome bar called BASE where they serve good coffee and cocktails.

  Comments: Tout d'abord un grand merci à Fred pour cette jolie chambre pleine de charme. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour de 5j à Porto et nous avons pu facilement visiter la ville grâce à la localisation idéale de ce logement. La chambre est extrêmement propre. Le système que nous avait proposé Fred pour récupérer les clés a été tres simple pour nous et tres bien expliqué. Seul bémol, le bruit nocturne du logement mais qui est un peu inévitable vu l'excellente localisation!

O quarto é muito confortável e a localização é excelente! O único ponto é que não fica ninguém no prédio, então caso queira a experiência de interagir com o morador, isso não é possível.

  Comments: Fred is an amazing host and made great efforts to ensure our comfort. During our stay, Fred stopped by multiple times to bring us more blankets and later our boarding passes, which he offered to print. He even welcomed us to stay after check-out because we had a late flight. The location was great, just off the metro, within a less than a five minutes walk to the station and the Livraria Lello. The design of the space is elegant but sensible, and I loved the skylight and white interiors. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend this place.

  Comments: Fred's place is a perfect place to stay, particularly if you want to be in central Porto. It is exactly as described/seen in the photos - very quaint, clean and perfectly located - about 3 mins walk from the metro station, 10 mins from the Douro River and pretty much next door to the Clerigos Tower (which you can climb and get fantastic views of the city). We had breakfast on the last day which was also very nice! Fred could not have been a lovelier guy - really keen to make sure you have had a perfect trip and obviously very passionate about providing affordable but very comfortable accommodation, which this absolutely is!

  Comments: Wow, what a great AirBnb to stay at in Porto! Freds house is super central located within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions and close to nightlife and restaurants. I believe you cannot find a better location! The house is an old building but recently renovated with a lot of attention to detail. Very modern and nice looking. The room we had was very clean and ready when we arrived. Each room as a bathroom and all rooms share a living room and kitchen. You can have a great breakfast that is being served by Maria, the woman that takes care of the house. Although we did not meet Fred in person all went really smooth! We had the feeling we could reach out whenever we needed anything. But that was not necessary as everything was arranged just perfect. Highly recommended host. Looking forward to come back to this beautiful city and the great host Fred!

  Comments: We didnt get to meet Fred but he left us very detailed instructions on how to get to the accommodation and some lovely recommendations for food and drinks . The apartment is very clean and tastefully decorated. Location was excellent! Everything was within walking distance to us . Only minor issue was the noise from the street late at night eventhough we had the windows closed but seeing as the location was prime, we didn't mind it too much. Thanks for a lovely stay Fred!

  Comments: Fred's place is exactly like pictures show. The room was clean and cozy, sited in a great location, it couldn't be more central. the only flaw was the noise in the nights of the week end. We did not meet Fred in person, but he took care to give us detailed information about how to check in and out, and also many advices on the things to visit and where to eat or drink. Check in and check out process worked perfectly. We did not book the breakfast during our stay and did not make use of the kitchen. Nevertheless we saw it was perfect equipped and the house had also a nice living room. Wifi connection worked fine. We can just recommend this place.

  Comments: Eine super zentrale Unterkunft in einem schön sanierten klassischen Portuenser Haus, das komplett als Guesthouse genutz wird. Ein- und Aus-Checken ist wunderbar bequem und jeder Zeit möglich. Das Zimmer war zweckmäßig und nett eingerichtet. Perfekt für einen Städtetrip! (Es gibt auch eine wirklich gut ausgestattete Küche und einen Aufenthaltsraum.) Was man vielleicht wissen sollte: Es sind u.U. ziemlich viele Treppenstufen zu bewältigen (kein Aufzug) und wenn man ein Zimmer zur rückseitigen Rua dos Clérigos (führt vom Bahnhof quasi direkt ins Nachtleben und zurück) erwischt, kann es nachts etwas laut sein. Insgesamt aber eine sehr empfehlenswerte Unterkunft.

  Comments: It was my first time in Porto and Fred's house is located in a perfect place to visit the whole city :D I could walk to the rivet, famous market, beautiful station etc Clean and lovely room just same as the pictures. I will definitely choose Fred's house when I come back to Porto. Well just one thing yoy might consider, stairs are pretty stiff and if you have really heavy luggage, then it would be little bit hard to go up with it.

  Comments: Die Unterkunft von Fred liegt ideal, ist prima sauber, liebevoll und richtig schnuckelig. Alles hat bestens geklappt und Fred war schon im Voraus sehr hilfsbereit. Die Reisezeit Ende Mai war ideal. Je nach Jahreszeit muss man am Standort von Fred's house mit den Nebeneffekten der nahen Baustelle, der Hitze und dem nächtlichen Lärm in den Strassen leben können. Abgesehen davon würde ich jederzeit wieder in Fred's house zurück kehren.

  Comments: Freds House liegt sehr zentral. Von dort aus waren wir zu Fuß in fünf Minuten unten. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, genauso wie die ganze Wohnung. Die für die Sauberkeit zuständige Dame war immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles in allem sehr sehr schön dort!

  Comments: Fred's place is definitely in a good central location. It is closed to a main train station and metro station which makes the transport for day trips and airport very convenient. The room has offered everything I needed. I especially like the big shower room, the common kitchen for making coffee every morning and the cozy living room for a short rest during the day. Saying thanks to the kind lady to help keeping the place clean too. I'd definitely recommend Fred's place for anyone staying in Porto!

  Comments: Fred's huis ligt letterlijk in het midden van de stad. Ik was verbaasd dat (bijna) alle bezienswaardigheden op max. 5 minuten loopafstand is. Fred is een aardige man en communiceert snel en helpt je meteen! De kamer (Loíos) was net een hotelkamer (met aparte badkamer) en ziet er net uit als op de afbeelding: karakteristiek, schoon en compact.

  Comments: Hi All, Fred's appartements are really nice. Tastefully decorated in an old town house. All is fine. You are in the middle of the things you want to visit in Porto. It's ideal when you travel with public transport as it's close to the Metro and you can leave your luggage also after check out. It's in the very center of Porto so be prepared for some sounds from the street. I can highly recommend it! Uli

  Comments: Die Unterkunft war einfach toll. Sie war mitten im Zentrum von Porto und alles war zu Fuß zu erreichen. Die zusätzliche Küche bietet die Möglichkeit sich selbst zu versorgen. Gerade wenn man sich mal einen Kaffee oder Tee gönnen möchte. Ganz besonders gut fanden wir dass es am Check out Tag die Möglichkeit gab das Gepäck in der Unterkunft zu lassen. Bedingt durch die Lage ist es natürlich nachts auf der Straße vor dem Haus sehr laut. Lässt sich bei geschlossenem Fenster gut ertragen. Wir würden immer wieder kommen.

  Comments: The location was great and the private room with bath was very clean. The entry/exit works very well so you even have access to the common space when you've checked out. Keep in mind that the rooms are up stairs and staying in an old city means the noise level is high as buildings are closer to each other. But overall it worked well.

  Comments: Very clean and well maintained. Very central location, easy to access everything by foot and metro close by as well. It can get a bit noisy outside though on weekend nights, so not the best option if you're a light sleeper, but noise was not an issue on our weeknight stay. Fred is also easy to get a hold of if you have questions and upon initially booking, he had sent us an email with suggestions for restaurants and sights (a few of which we checked out). Lastly, there were quite a few stairs to get up to our room, but we had read this from a previous review and were mentally (and physically) prepared ahead of time.

This accommodation is a "MUST STAY" if in Porto. Its location was key. Just 2 blocks from Sao Bento station, It was easy to catch the metro, or in my case train. Fred has thought of everything, and the Self Check In process was clearly communicated, and easy. If ever in Porto again, I won't stay anywhere else!   Comments: Highly recommend to everyone visiting Porto! We could not have chosen a better place to stay during our visit. The flat is in a super walkable, centrally located area that made visiting and enjoying all of Porto’s lovely attractions extremely easy and enjoyable. Inside, the room is exactly as pictured with a lovely view of the street below, private bathroom and shower with wonderful water pressure, and comfortable/clean bed and linens. Everything was very clean and tidy, and the building itself of organized and functional (has a fully equipped shared kitchen and cute living room for guests). Thanks for Fred’s pre-arrival messages, the check in/out process was super easy. Helpful hints: The building is about a 5 min walk from the train station (perfect for those like us who came from Lisbon for a few days in Porto) and metro stations are also a very short walk away; the area is really safe and we never felt strange or scared at any time of the day/night; there is no elevator in the building so luggage will have to be carried up a few flights of stairs, but it’s a very easy staircase with landings around every curve; for a great place to eat modern and delicious Portuguese food at reasonable prices, enjoy a meal at nearby Brasao Cervejaria Aliados! We cannot recommend this flat enough and we hope all who stay with Fred will enjoy their stay as much as we did :)

  Comments: I loved the location of Fred’s House. Short walk from the Trinidade Metro Station and all points of interest are in close walking distance with Clérigos Tower on the same road. Make sure you where flat comfortable shoes as Porto is VERY hilly and possibly earplugs if you are a light sleeper as Porto never seems to sleep. Our room was light and airy and spotless. Our room had an W suite with a fabulous shower with shower gel and hairdryer provided. There is also a communal living space. Kitchen and separate shower room that are also very clean. Lots of steps though so not good for those who struggle on their feet.

  Comments: This is a wonderful space in the heart of Porto. We loved that we could come early and leave our luggage while we explored before check in. The location is amazing, however, the street outside can be quite noisy, so make sure to bring some earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Das bringt allerdings auch mit sich, dass es in der Wohnung z.T. recht laut ist, da sie an einer viel befahrenen Straße liegt. Check-in und Check-out ist unkompliziert. Fred reagiert sehr schnell auf Nachrichten und kümmert sich. Die Wohnung selbst ist sehr schön, aber klein. Es gibt einen Living Room zwei Stockwerke unter der Wohnung und eine separate Küche, die genutzt werden kann. Wir können die Wohnung auf alle Fälle weiter empfehlen. Schöner Aufenthalt.

My friend and I were in Porto for 3 nights, and the location of this accommodation (right in the heart of the city, close to all major attractions) was perfect for exploring! The room and accommodation was excellent - along with your private room and bathroom, you have access to another communal bathroom, a living room, and kitchen. The check-in/check-out process was intuitive and easy (both are self-serviced but Fred is very easy to get a hold of if there are any issues). He also gave us restaurant, bar, and dessert recommendations in Porto that were all amazing. Overall, I highly recommend staying at Fred's place and would 100% return if I'm visiting Porto again.   Comments: WOW! What a fantastic location centrally located in Porto. Since we were only staying one night and did not book far in advance, we snagged this awesome place as a "rare find" listing. Fred's Place is a full building with a few small units that share a kitchen and living room. Our room had a private bathroom but we noticed not all do. Check-in instructions may sound a bit sketchy but it was actually very safe, simple and secure. The room was the perfect size for those just needing a place to store their belongings and comfortable rest their heads. I would recommend this listing to anyone traveling to Porto. This place truly had a boutique hotel-like feel. Give it, and Porto, a try! You will not regret it!

Room is small, but fuctional. There’s a heavy and noisy traffic on the street side of building, but it doesn’t bother if you have ear plugs. This is a good place to stay a couple of nights in Porto!

  Comments: Fred’s place is the best for seeing and connecting to everything. Great cafe just outside the door. Only thing is the stairs are a bit scary for bringing bags up and down. I’m a 69 year old female and relatively fit but I found the stairs aren’t to code that we’re used to so just be aware if you’re in that retirement age category. The noise from the street outside on the weekend was pretty loud even with ear plugs but Sunday night it quieted down. I’d still say that anything that could be considered a negative is far outweighed by the positives of this place.

  Comments: Great place to stay if you want to be right in the center of Porto. The room and bathroom are small with very limited storage space so might be challenging if you are planning on staying there for more than a couple of nights. The room and bathroom were both clean and comfortable. With the windows open at night the street below is noisy. Check-in/out is very easy and it’s an overall great place for a couple nights to really see Porto.

  Comments: Fred's place is located in historic Porto, close to all the important locations. The building itself is centuries old, but modernized with the comfort of the traveler in mind. However, be prepared to climb up to five floors of narrow stairs and also for a noisy street outside, especially on weekends. But inside, everything was sparkling clean, thanks to Maria. And Fred was always accessible and responded with little delay to any message I sent.

  Comments: Great location, 5 minutes from Sao Bento train station. Lots of stairs but nice view. Loved my stone wall and great design. Kitchen a plus. Shared space and room could use some chairs. I highly recommend this place. Great that the cleaning woman was there when I arrived and helped me check in right away. Would stay there again.

  Comments: Fred is the best host I ever had in Airbnb. Why I say this? After our stay in his apartment for a couple of days we left to the airport. Our flight was canceled so I asked Fred if he has availability for one night. He offered as a room and he also came to the airport to pick us up!! Apart from his kindness, the communication and recommendations were great. The apartment is very minimalist and with nice design. Comfortable bed, plenty of light and very good shower. Maybe some noise at night in the mains street and no elevator, but this was no problem for us. Again, best host ever. Obrigado Fred

  Comments: We had an excellent experience staying at Fred’s house. Location is super cool, 3-5 min walk from São Bento railway station. Room with private bathroom was spacious, with big windows. Everything was sparkling clean and smelling fresh. House also has nice living-room and shared kitchen. Though I didn’t have chance to meet Fred in person, I can say about him that he is a very thoughtful host, he sent me many local tips and was very quick on responding messages. Totally recommend Fred’s house. Thank you, Fred!

  Comments: Excellent location, chic room, very clean, tidy and well done up. Everything you’d expect in a good room! Though, I wouldn’t recommend if you’ve got a big/ heavy bag with you. Big and narrow stairway makes it extremely difficult to carry your stuff up, especially if you’re on the 3rd floor like I was. Also, the place gets a little cold in the winter as its not properly insulated and the electric heater doesn’t do a great deal to keep the place warm.

  Comments: Everything was good: room has separate bathroom, comfortable bed, we was in the winter month - and we get heater for our room. In the common area are kitchen where possible to cook something, living room where you can eating or seating. Appartments has very good location
