  Comments: Kevin was very welcoming and thorough with all information. The description of the property was accurate. It's also near the MTA if you want to get to another part of the city. Kevin got in touch before I arrived, and his brother was there to meet me and show me where everything was, which was great. Last but not least, he had provided a great information on the local area with recommendations for places to eat, etc., which I found really useful.

  Comments: Kevin was nice. And he was very responsive via text, which I appreciate. The listing is in East Harlem, which isn't for everyone. The area is not very posh, but, for me, it feels like home, so I tend to stay there whenever I go to New York. The listing description was accurate enough, with respect to the way the apartment looks. If you can't deal with noise at night, however, this might not be the place for you. The neighbors were surprisingly noisy in the wee hours of the night and virtually silent during the day. This apartment is close to the subway, which was very useful.

Nos proveyó de un matress de aire para nuestra amiga que vino de M.A. y se quedó una noche con nosotros. El barrio nos pareció bien, no tuvimos ningún incidente. Muchos puertoriqueños y Dominicanos, así que nos sentimos como en casa. Todo fue muy cómodo y limpio. Los vecinos hicieron mucho ruido en las noches, pero no fue problema para nosotros. Una sugerencia sería poner un espejo de cuerpo completo en alguna parte del apartento. En resumen, el apartamento fue perfecto para nosotros, nos volveríamos a quedar y claro que lo recomendaría!   Comments: Kevin is a really nice host, flexible and very responsive. The apartment is a 4th-floor walk up, well-maintained and exactly as advertised in the listing. The apartment has all the basic things--it's especially nice to have a kitchen and comfy sofa. There's no TV and wifi, but you probably don't need it anyway since you are here to see New York city! It is just a short 5-min walk from the subway station, so very convenient. Street noise is not a problem although you can hear the neighbors at times (the kids next door can be noisy). East Harlem is a bustling Latino neighborhood with many local eateries and shops. The food selection is supposed to be great (too bad we didn't get to try any). There is a grocery store right outside the building. There're always locals hanging out in front but we were never bothered. All and all, a good choice if you are looking to stay in this part of the city.

The Neighborhood is definitely classic East Harlem. Very real NYC vibe. Not a tourist area. The neighbors are noisy sometimes, so if you are a light sleeper, that could be a problem. But I didn't have any trouble. It would have been nice to have wireless, but I didn't come to NYC to play online, so I didn't mind that too much. Kevin was a very nice, responsive host!

  Comments: Me and my husband stayed in the apartment this was our first time using this site and Kevin made us feel like we are regulars. We stayed one night and it was wonderful. Kevin contacted us right away and was really good with getting us whatever we need to stay there. The area is the only bad thing but when we went in the apartment you really forget about the outside.

  Comments: This is my first time using Airbnb. Kevin responded quickly to my inquiry about booking his apartment. Once booked he was very easy to reach via phone or text if I needed to. His one bedroom apartment was very clean and nicely furnished. It is central to a lot of restaurants and neighborhood shopping should you need something and a couple blocks from the subway and buses. Kevin was a great host. He was there to greet me, show me around the apartment and tell me a bit about the area. He also has maps and booklets about what to visit while in New York City. There is wifi in the apartment which is great. Kevin checked in with me just to make sure everything was ok during my trip. I had a wonderful stay at his apartment and would book it again!

  Comments: Kevin's a great guy, but if you're looking for a hotel-like experience, this is NOT it... This however, IS a genuine NYC experience. Noisy & inconsiderate neighbors, dirty streets, dangerous vibes... All in all your safe, and anyone you actually talk to will be cool... Kevin was also very considerate and did everything he could to add comfort to my stay, he even warned me of the noisy neighbors in advance... This place is good for people who already know NYC, and need an affordable, SHORT-TERM (like 1-2days), place to crash uptown...

  Comments: When I arrived to the apartment I was met by Kevin with a big welcome and smile. He carried my suitcase up without my even asking. The apartment was what I expected. Very comfortable, clean and spacious for a NYC apt. Kevin was always within text or phone and answered all questions I had. He made sure I had enough wifi by actively calling cable to boost the signal which I thought was really great. He checked in with me regularly to make sure my stay was great. The neighborhood has many resturants and stores near by for convenience. Thanks Kevin I had a great stay.

  Comments: My friend and I stayed at Kevin's apartment during the Panorama Music Festival on Randall's Island. The apartment is extremely accessible to Randall's Island - easy walk. Kevin was very responsive before and during our stay. The apartment was clean and perfectly comfortable - photos were accurate. Bonus points for the powerful air conditioning unit - a must during July in NYC. Harlem is a great neighborhood and it was nice to get away from some of the tourist traps downtown. I highly recommend and would stay again in the future.

  Comments: The host was very nice and answer any questions I had before and after my arrival to New york. His apartment was fine if you planning on staying for a couple days. I didnt like that his items was still left in the closet because we really didnt have anywhere to put our things. Also i didn't like the fact in the closet it was 7 roaches on a trap that made me think he have roaches in the house and this made me to keep all my luggage close until my stay ended but overall we had a pleasant stay. This apartment doesn't have TV but it does have WiFi but you don't really need a TV if you visit New York because so much to do there. Also his apartment is located in urban neighborhood which fill with different Ethnic group mostly Latino and Blacks. His apartment is located on 4th floor of the building no elevator only stairs so just be prepared to walk a lot stairs. The hallway are dirty and I saw people smoking and drinking which I didn't like as well. Also people hang out in from of the building but no way said or did anything to us. Next door neighbor who is deaf with kids are very loud and stay up and make noise all night so be prepared to listen to noise neighbors Overall I had a wonderful time and new York despite the little mishap on arrival but the host himself is a very nice person but I probably won't be staying at this location anymore just because the building, loudness and the neighbors.

  Comments: Staying here was amazing. The apartment was immaculate, everything was functional, and there was even air conditioning (which is a God-send in this New York heat). Despite the occasionally leaking air conditioner that had to be emptied (which we were notified about earlier), I really have no complaints on my stay in Kevin's apartment. He was very friendly and helpful. He even offered clear directions on how to get to his place as well as maps in order to get around. My only advice for people staying here in the future is that although Kevin's place is nice and well-kept, the location is still in East Harlem and it can get a little sketchy and dangerous (especially at night). This location is right opposite the projects (it is important to note that it is not the safest area). However, the overall experience was a great one, Kevin was awesome, and we were able to accomplish everything we set out to do.

  Comments: The place is absolutely great and located ideally within East Harlem close to the 6. The apartment was clean and as described. Kevin is super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we had one of our worst experiences with AirBnB so far due to the neighbors - first, we had a deaf couple with three children fighting, screaming, crying, yelling, stomping etc until 2am(!). Then, there was a party (granted - it was Halloween weekend) with lots of yelling, running, stomping, dancing etc till 9am(!) with repeated interruptions from angry neighbors shouting obscenities at the party at times like 6am. And obviously the kids an parents were up and running again at 10am. I know that it is outside of Kevin's reach and that sometimes such things can happen, but considering the noisy surroundings this place is not ideal to sleep off a jetlag from an intercontinental flight...

  Comments: I had a great stay at Kevin's. I arrived pretty late and Kevin waited for me for check in. He was friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean and well-equipped. Super close to subway. Kevin also let me check out pretty late. If you are looking for a really quiet spot though, this is not it, as the neighbors can be loud, at least when I was there. But most of us come to NYC to explore the city so it really isn't much of a problem.

Kevin was great with communication, and he gave us a very kind welcome. The place was very clean. It was overall a fantastic value for a stay in New York, near to the subway which makes it easy to get around town. We would recommend that you bring earplugs if you're noise-sensitive. I'm a heavy sleeper and was fine, but my wife is a light sleeper and the neighbors' kids intermittently woke her up with noise. Again, though, a really great experience overall. We would definitely recommend Kevin's place.

  Comments: Kevin is a very responsive and accommodating host, and his apartment was clean as cozy, as described. The building was close to public transportation and we were able to find parking right out front, which made travel both within the city and our exit from it very easy. Unfortunately, the night we stayed, we were awoken multiple times by repeated and sustained noises from Kevin's next-door neighbors, making made sleeping extremely difficult for us; this is not Kevin's fault, just something to be aware of if you are a light sleeper.

  Comments: Thank you so much for everything Kevin! It was exactly how you described and very easy to travel around the city especially if you were looking to commute as I was. Kevin checked on me throughout my stay and was where he said he would be right when he said he would be there. I'm big on food so I'd suggest Amy Ruth's for breakfast. The chicken and waffles are incredible and you can walk there if you want to take in Harlem no problem or get driven there by a ride share for 5 bucks. It's great if you are going to explore the city and just want somewhere to hang your head. So very clean also. Thank you so much Kevin!

  Comments: Kevin was a wonderful host! I am not supposed to lift heavy because of breast implant due to cancer and he not only brought my bags up, but offered to come back the next morning when my shuttle came to take me to the airport and help bring my bags down. The place is simple and did the trick for the one night that I stayed. I'm familiar with the neighborhood but didn't realize shops close a bit early for being in Manhattan, (Duane Reade closed at 9:00 but found a Rite Aid 2 blocks up) but you can walk 10-15 south to the Upper East Side and you've got everything you need.

  Comments: This is a cute little apartment that was just perfect for the two of us! It was my boyfriend's first trip to the city and it was nice to have a place to come back to that felt more like a home than any hotel. It was super close to the subway and very easy to navigate. We didn't have any problems thankfully, but Kevin still checked up on us on the day we didn't see him. We had a great time and loved the apartment. It helped get a little more authentic taste of the city.

Kevin's place was exactly as pictured and he made sure we had everything we needed. He was excellent with communication and even checked in on us the next day. One thing is I didn't realize there wasn't a TV so if you like to relax with a TV at the end of the day I would suggest bringing your laptop! Overall, my boyfriend and I had a great weekend in New York and in Kevin's place. Thank you Kevin!

The location is very convenient to the subway which made it possible for us to get everywhere we needed to go. Kevin was very flexible and accomodated our early arrival and late check out. The air-conditioning was AWESOME. The location is very close to 125th St which is historic Harlem and near the Apollo Theatre. We were able to take in a play at the National Black Theatre and hear live music at one of the local bars. The loud children are no longer there so we were able to sleep well with no disturbance. We were often returning late at night and felt safe in the neighborhood. If I'm travelling to that area again I would choose to stay in Kevin's home again. The apartment itself is reasonably spacious, well equipped with pretty much everything you want, and overall very pleasing. The bed could use an upgrade, it's low end and plasticky, but functional. The air conditioner is fairly loud, so if you have issues with noise make sure to bring ear plugs if you'll want the air on at night. The apartment is actually quite quiet otherwise, surprisingly, but we got pretty unlucky our second night: one of the neighbors had a very loud group of guests or party making noises well into the early morning. Again, make sure you have ear plugs, but that's always a good idea for cities. Overall we had an excellent stay, marred just by the neighbors being noisy on one particular night.

  Comments: My stay at Kevin's place was great. He reached out to me the day before to confirm. The apartment is way to find and really close to plenty of places. The express bus is right at the corner and the crosstown bus is a block away. Target and Old Navy is about a 5-10 min walk. There's a grocery store right down the street as well. Plenty of good food in the area. The apartment is very simple, just what I needed. The minor things is it's a 4th floor walk up and there's no TV but I was fine with those things. I recommend!

So many great food places and walkable to all of them. His place is very clean and minimal, allows you to be more in the moment with the person you're starting with and enjoy simplicity. He checked in on our stay and accommodated us with special requests. The a/c in the bedroom was a lifesaver (and in NY, it's rare to find places with any a/c even in restaurants). Only downside was that wifi didn't work during our stay - it would work maybe a few minutes then we'd have to reboot to get another few minutes. It apparently was an issue with the internet provider and wasn't a huge deal since we didn't spend that much time in the apt. Overall, would recommend.

Kevin was at work when I tried to book so communication was slow. When we did meet at the apartment, he was very hospitable and kind. The apartment is in a good location, close to many restaurants and a vibrant city day/night life. I'd stay in this apartment again, great location and was cool for what I needed it for at the time. No high expectations of this apartment but if you're just dropping your bags and hitting the streets then this is just what you need. Kevin was super cool and nice, being clear with how we would meet up and how to get into the building. This is a NYC apartment and the building is what it is but I grew part of my childhood in the Bronx, so it was like any other building I knew as a kid. The space is big for a one bedroom. It has enough space for 1-2 people and it got the job done for me. I wanted a place near my work and that was easy to get to from where I work. And Kevin was super cool.

Apparently heat is controlled by the building. The apartment was unbearably hot, I had windows open in December and it was still terrible. I was unable to sleep because of the heat and lack of air movement. The walls are also very thin and some of the neighbors were very loud, setting off alarms in the middle of the night.

I came for an overnight stay on a business trip - also the description says it is appropriate for business travelers, and it IS NOT. There are no business style amenities besides WiFi. There are no desks or even night stands to put and charge your phone. There were also a lof of personal items still visible. It was very clean, but had a lot of perfume smells, so if you are sensitive, beware. The main issue with this place is the noise. When I arrived Kevin told me that it was just "New York apartment noise and that his neighbors are deaf so they can be a little loud to communicate with each other." This was a FAR cry from the truth. The neighbors are OUT OF CONTROL LOUD!!! And have waaaay more issues than being deaf. I got in at 7 p.m. and almost immediately there were what sounded like physical flights, banging on the doors and walls both inside and in the hallways, shouting, screaming, loud music, running up and down the stairs until 7 a.m.!!!! It was like I was in the middle of a wrestling ring all night long! The walls are super thin and you can hear everything! It was like they were in the apartment. It was singularly the most horrible HORRIFIC sleeping experience of my life. You cannot get away from the noise, and it is VIOLENT and ABUSIVE. Only stay here if you can sleep like a baby on an airplane runway.
